چکیده

The vertical volute centrifugal pump is widely used in the long-distance water division project. Flow separation and vortex phenomenon can be observed vaned diffuser under near stall operating conditions. This kind of unsteady flow structures would result instability unit which affect safety reliability operation. In this paper, patterns induced pressure fluctuation a with were simulated based on SAS turbulence model refined mesh research results show that SST combined selected grid validated CFD uncertainty analysis during steady calculation ITTC relevant procedures. performance predicted by quite good agreement experimental data, prediction errors less than 5%. 3D matching between angle at impeller blade outlet incidence guide vane different spans induce inception pump. conditions revealed vorticity streamline distributions. When was operated conditions, main frequency changed from passing 7fn to 0.9fn. It found mainly affected large-scale vortices diffuser, appear every 0.9 time period one revolution impeller.

Numerical Study of the tongue geometry effects on the cavitation and performance of a centrifugal pump in off-design conditions

In this study, the effects of the volute tongue geometry variation on the head, efficiency, velocity distribution and cavitation structure of a centrifugal pump in the steady flow behavior under off-design conditions have been investigated. Numerical simulation modeling based on the  turbulence model with a hybrid grid is used to simulate the flow within the modeled pump. The flow is simulated ...

Impeller and volute design and optimization of the centrifugal pump with low specific speed in order to extract performance curves

Now a day centrifugal pumps are vital components of industries. Certainly, one of the most important specifications of centrifugal pumps are the performance curves. In the present work, performance curves of a centrifugal pumps are obtained by Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and as an outcome, CFD results compare by practical curves. At the first step impeller and volute are designed with tw...

Experimental investigation on sound of a centrifugal blower and fluctuating pressure on its volute

The Research has shown that the primary sound source in centrifugal turbomachines is the blade passing frequency noise, which is caused by due to impac rotor exit flow with the volute and the wild pressure fluctuations. In this paper, a centrifugal blower with forward facing blades has been selected and the sound created by it in the output channel has been investigated in different operating c...

Experimental Study and Three-Dimensional Numerical Flow Simulation in a Centrifugal Pump when Handling Viscous Fluids

In this paper the centrifugal pump performances are tested when handling water and viscous oils as Newtonian fluids. Also, this paper shows a numerical simulation of the three-dimensional fluid flow inside a centrifugal pump. For these numerical simulations the SIMPLEC algorithm is used for solving governing equations of incompressible viscous/turbulent flows through the pump. The k-ε turbulenc...
